Luxury Vinyl INSTALLATION

Before your new luxury vinyl installation

Prior to your new luxury vinyl installation, there are plenty of helpful steps you can take to ensure a smooth process. Start by removing all furniture from the rooms and closets that are getting new floors, as well as any electronics or hanging wall items. Since luxury vinyl flooring products often offer floating floor installation method over an existing floor, your current floors may not need to be removed entirely and disposed of properly! This will make installation much more efficient. Make sure to complete any new painting or touch-ups in the room beforehand. Once your subfloor has been professionally assessed, you are ready for new luxury vinyl flooring!

During luxury vinyl installation

On the day of your luxury vinyl installation, make sure an adult is home and on-hand to answer any questions that may arise for your installers. Designate an area in the home for the installation crew to keep saws and luxury vinyl installation tools, keep boxes of luxury vinyl before they are installed, and to saw luxury vinyl pieces as needed. Keep all children and pets away from the rooms receiving new luxury vinyl, as well as the worker’s area.

After luxury vinyl installation

Once your new luxury vinyl floors are installed, now is the time to walk through with your installers and ask any questions you may have. It’s important to wait for the specified time period before walking on your new luxury vinyl or returning furnishings to the room. Many floating floors are ready for light foot traffic and use right away! If a floating floor has raised the overall flooring height, you may need to shave the bottom of doors down to achieve full range of motion. When returning furniture, always lift pieces or use proper moving equipment with wheels to avoid damaging the floors. Also, we recommend using felt protectors under the legs of heavier pieces to reduce impact.
