CARPET INSTALLATION

Before Your New Carpet Installation

Prior to your new carpet installation, there are plenty of helpful steps you can take to ensure a smooth process. Start by removing all furniture from the rooms and closets that are getting new carpet, as well as any electronics or hanging wall items. Since carpet cannot be installed over an existing flooring type, the current floors will need to be removed entirely and disposed of properly. Make sure to complete any new painting or touch-ups in the room beforehand. Once your subfloor has been professionally assessed, and any needed repairs have been made, you are ready for new carpet!

During Carpet Installation

On the day of your carpet installation, make sure an adult is home and on-hand to answer any questions that may arise for your installers. Designate an area in the home for the installation crew to keep carpet installation tools, keep carpet rolls before they are installed, and to cut carpet as needed. Keep all children and pets away from the rooms receiving new carpet, as well as the worker’s area.

After Carpet Installation

Once your new carpet is installed, now is the time to walk through with your installers and ask any questions you may have. It’s important to wait for the specified time period before walking on your new carpet or returning furnishings to the room. When returning furniture, always lift pieces or use proper moving equipment with wheels to avoid snagging the carpet. Also, we recommend using felt protectors under the legs of heavier pieces to reduce impact and crushing. When you begin vacuuming your new carpet, you may experience typical shedding for the first few months.
